Batavia was an imperial Dutch port city that eventually, after two centuries of Dutch occupation, became the capital of the Dutch East Indies. The area corresponds to present-day Jakarta, Indonesia.
Details

Landhuis is an all-caps display typeface inspired by a historic inscription found on the facade of a coffee plantation farmhouse in East Java. Drawing from the Nederlandsch-Indië (Dutch East Indies) era in Indonesia—a period heavily influenced by Art Deco and Art Nouveau design—Landhuis channels classic colonial aesthetics into a modern toolkit.

Named after the Dutch word for “country house”, the typeface honors the historic 18th and 19th-century estate houses built across former Dutch territories. With 8 versatile weights and extensive Latin and Cyrillic support, Landhuis bridges historic elegance with modern functionality.
